The Magnificent 10 biking deals of the week

What are the best motorcycle and kit deals and discounts available right now?

Continuing our regular weekly guides to current biking offers and bargains, we’ve been scouring the marketplace – so you don’t have to!

Save £9996 on a Zero SR/S

Although smaller electric bikes and scooters sell reasonably well, full size electric motorcycles, such as Harley’s LiveWire or those from leading California brand Zero, continue to struggle and are particularly hindered by their often high prices, which is why you’ll often see them subjected to big dealer discounts, as is the case here – but this almost £10K saving is among the biggest we’ve seen so far. It’s currently being offered by leading Peterborough dealer Wheels Motorcycles and applies to a brand new, 0-mile example of Zero’s decently performing SR/S sports tourer. Normally listed at £23,995, Wheels have slashed a massive £9996 off so taking it down to just £13,999.

Get £5000 off this 30th Anniversary Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade

Full 1000cc superbikes are another category of bikes that have been struggling slightly in the current market, especially premium-priced, high-end examples such as BMW’s M1000RR, which is why – again – big dealer discounts can sometimes be found. That said, they’re brilliant, classy performers and none are arguably better than Honda’s SP version of its legendary CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. In 2022 a special, 30th Anniversary limited edition was launched but at £23,995 it was pricey, too – except here. Leading dealer Chiswick Honda has one, brand new, 0-mile, ‘old stock’ example left which it’s currently offering with a £5000 discount so taking it now down to just £18,995.

Get £2796 off a Ducati DesertX

Ducati’s ‘old school’ style, 937cc, V-twin, DesertX adventure bike (it was originally shown as a ‘concept’ bike as inspired by the 1980s Cagiva Elefant) is widely recognized as one of the best dual-purpose machines of its type, but that doesn’t mean you won’t see any big dealer discounts – as is the case here – they’re just harder to find. Ducati Aylesbury, for example, is currently offering this brand new, 0-mile, 2024 example with a whopping £2796 taken off its usual price of £19,295 so taking it down now to just £16,499.

Save £2500 on a BMW R1250RT

While, finally for this week, another example of a great bike which, due to the unveiling of a succeeding model, can now be found with big dealer discounts. BMW’s brilliant R1250RT was already far and away the best tourer you can buy but the German firm has just unveiled its all-new R1300RT which promises to be bigger and better still. That bike’s not available just yet but in the meantime dealer Ocean Motorrad in Plymouth is offering this brand new, top spec LE version of the 1250 with a whopping £2500 off, taking it down from the previous £23,960 to now be available for just £21,460.

Get this Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport with £400 off

Buying used sometimes gives you not only the opportunity to get a great cut-price deal it can also provide the chance to get a great bike that’s no longer available new – as is the case here. Triumph’s Tiger 1050 Sport was a great, characterful, fine handling ‘adventure sports’ which was dropped but not really replaced after 2017. Used bike specialists Superbike Factory, however, are currently offering this late, low mileage example, which is on a 67-plate, has covered just 8542 miles and is in excellent condition, with a further £400 off, so taking it down from the previous £6990 to now be a steal at just £6590.

Save £396 on this BMW F750GS Sport

Here’s another great, mid-range adventure bike that just been reduced so is now available at approaching half the price of a new one. BMW’s entry-level F-series adventure, the F750GS, uses the same 850cc parallel twin as the more hard-core F850GS but is in a softer tune and has a more accessible, affordable spec. Best of all, used bike specialists Superbike Factory have just reduced this 19-plate example which has covered just 7674 miles and also comes with a smart aluminium top case, by £396 so taking its price down from the previous £6286 to now be on offer at just £5890.

Save £338 on this Yamaha TMAX 500

While, finally for this week, how about this for a great deal on one of the best commuter two-wheelers ever? Yamaha’s TMAX 500 has long been regarded as the ultimate ‘super scooter’ but with new prices now over £14,000 it’s also a very pricey one – except here. Used bike specialists Superbike Factory currently have on offer this 16-plate example which has covered just 4296 miles so is in excellent condition. It also comes with a useful accessory top case to make it even more practical while, best of all, its price has now come down by £338 so reducing it from £6286 to just £5948 making this TMAX very affordable indeed.

Here are last week's deals, in case you missed them...

Save £5500 on a Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid

Kawasaki are to be applauded for its first introduction, last year, of a true ‘hybrid’ (which combines a conventional ICE petrol engine with a battery-powered electric motor) into motorcycling. But 12 months on, priced at £11,949 and with fairly underwhelming performance (68bhp, around 75mpg and a hefty weight of 227kg) it’s not unfair to say its sales have been underwhelming, too – hence dealer discounts like this. Five Ways Motorcycles are currently offering this brand-new example with a whopping £5500 off, taking it down to a far more tempting – and economical – £6449.

Get £3400 off this KTM 890 SM-T

New bikes sometimes slip ‘under the radar’ a bit and can be overlooked, irrespective of their ability and value, which is the only reason I can think of why KTM’s new 890 SMT-T, which was only introduced last year as a sort of little brother to the Austrian brand’s 1290 GT, but instead has grunty, 105bhp parallel twin power, is being discounted by dealers so early. Iron City Motorcycles, for example, is currently offering this brand new 2024 example with a full £3400 off, so taking its asking price down from the usual £12,999 to now be available for just £9599

Get £2000 off this Ducati Scrambler 800

Proof that it’s not always oddball, budget or seemingly overpriced bikes that are the only recipients of big dealer discounts. Ducati’s Scrambler 800 family has been a huge success since their launch in 2015 as entry-level bikes into the exotic Italian brand’s family, have been repeatedly updated since and remain popular for their combination of style, ease and value. This brand-new example currently on offer at Ducati Croydon, however, is even better yet. Although pre-registered, it’s brand new, 0-miles and, thanks to a £2000 discount which takes it down from £9995 to now just £7995, is stupendous value as well.

Save £1304 on this Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE

While, finally for this week, proof that more mainstream, conventional – and already affordable motorcycles can sometimes be subject to big dealer discounts, too – as is the case here. Wheels Motorcycles in Peterborough is currently offering Suzuki’s excellent mid-range adventure bike, the V-Strom 800 DE, which stands out particularly for its gutsy and slick parallel twin engine and in this spec is the more off-road variant with wire wheels and a larger front hoop, with a full £3304 off its usual new price. That takes it down from the usual £10,999 to now be available for just £9695.

Get this Triumph Tiger 1200 with £481 off

Sometimes you come across such great deals on low mileage used bikes it makes you wonder why anyone would bother buying new – as is the case here. Used bike specialists Superbike Factory are currently offering this virtually as-new, 72-plate, ultra-low mileage example (just 702 recorded) of Triumph’s brilliant Tiger 1200 adventure bike which, naturally, is in immaculate, barely run-in condition with a further discount of £481, which takes it down from the previous price of £12,586 to now be available for a bargain £12,105 – that’s over £5000 less than a new one

Save £458 on this Vespa GTS300 Super

How’s this for something different – but also now at a very tempting, just-discounted price? Italian legends Vespa’s GTS300 remains arguably the most desirable, classy, retro scooter of all but with prices now approaching £6K it has the tag to match – except here. Used bike specialists Superbike Factory have just reduced the price on this low mileage used example to under £3000 It’s on a 66-plate, has covered just 2289 miles, is in excellent condition and comes complete with a useful top box. Best of all, though, its price has just been cut by £458 taking it down from the previous £3386 to now be on offer for just £2928

Save £417 on this Norton Commando 961 Sport

While, finally for this week, if you don’t fancy an adventure bike but still want something classically British, how about this great deal on a used example of revived Norton’s mouth-watering Commando 961? It’s again being offered by used bike specialists Superbike Factory, refers to a 69-plate example of the ‘Sport’ model so has inverted forks, Brembo radial brakes and even classy wire wheels, has covered just 4161 miles so is in excellent, unmarked condition and, thanks to a further discount of £417, its price has now been slashed from the previous £10,991 to now be available for just £10,574
