Carbon-fibre is often used on lightweight sports bikes to cut down on weight. But with the new Moto Guzzi Audace Carbon the Italian firm has used it very much for styling.
Following on from Moto Guzzi designer Miguel Galluzi’s MCX21 bagger in carbon-fibre the new Audace Carbon takes that a step further.
Designed as a harder looking dark cruiser, the 96bhp V-twin-powered Guzzi Audace Carbon uses a carbon front mudguard, carbon tank sides and a stripped-back dark look with everything painted black, including that big ol’ limp of an 1380cc engine which is Euro 4 compatible.
The Testarossa look is so typically Italian, so the Audace's dark carbon is offset with matt red aluminium cylinder head covers and equally red Brembo calipers. There’s sportier backswept handlebars and a short megaphone exhaust. Platform footboards are replaced with sportier feeling footrests, and there’s leather saddle with red stitching. The rear pillion seat can be removed easily to give it a sportier look.
The new Moto Guzzi Audace Carbon also uses the new Moto Guzzi Multimedia Platform (MG-MP) which connects the rider’s smartphone to the bike through an app. It allows the rider to wirelessly monitor everything from the speedo, rev counter, acceleration and instant torque.
No prices are yet available, but to give you an idea, the standard Moto Guzzi Audace costs £15,136 In the UK.
