If you thought it was bad enough getting caught in today’s snow, spare a thought for the entrants at this weekend’s Tough One enduro.
The race at Nantmwar Quarry in Shropshire is one of the hardest enduros in the world, running for three hours in and out of a steep-sided quarry on the Welsh borders near Oswestry. That’s twelve laps for the leaders.
Just in case any of the entrants ever thought the quarry was too easy, the organisers also create a host of obstacles including sections full of boulders, slippery tree trunks, drainage pipes and srap cars. Well, it is called The Tough One after all.
Thankfully the course was made easier for the Clubman’s race as heavy snow hit just before the start, it later cleared for the Professional’s race.
The win was taken by Husqvarna’s Graham Jarvis for the second year running. KTM’s Jonny Walker (pictured riding above) was second, and Gas-Gas rider Danny McCanney third.
